How long do orthotics last, and are they guaranteed?
The Centre only uses top class laboratories to manufacture orthoses so we would expect them to last for a minimum of 5 years, however refurbishments may be necessary.
HEALTH INSURANCE
My health insurance will pay for all of this, surely?
Not necessarily!
If you have cover, we advise that you check with your health insurance company to clarify their rules for coverage of Podiatry. Most insist on at least a GP referral, and many require Consultant referral. Consultation fees and x-rays (if you need them) are generally covered but none of the UK health insurances, to our knowledge, cover fees for casts and orthoses.
We ask that patients settle their accounts at the time of the consultation, so if you are going to claim, you will need to send your receipted invoice to your insurance company for reimbursal.
